“Listen to the Rain”
World War 1 Exhibition

Christchurch in Bray is marking the Centenary of the First World War Armistice. All of the 5ths walked up to the exhibition on Wednesday morning. Thankfully the rain held off.
The boys were fascinated to read the stories of the boys and men, who went to the War from Bray and the surrounding areas.

Long Division Repeated Subtraction Method
An alternative to the traditional long division method. Both are used in class. Some may find this method easier.
STEM Challenge: Building Bridges
Over the last few weeks, the boys have been learning all about the different types of bridges. They investigated local, national and international bridges. They have also discovered various shapes of strength in recent weeks. With all of this in mind, the boys were required to build a bridge spanning 30cm or more, which would be strong enough to support approximately 500g.
I’m particularly proud of the way they tested and improved their designs as they went along. They also applied their wonderful tessellating skills to enhance the strength of their bridge. Maith sibh!
